One of the first challenges that you
may face to live in an unknown city is to find out where to
shop. After living in Kure City for sometimes, you
will learn that there are only 3 major places that you can
shop in Kure. The first is Sogo Department stores,
which is right next to JR Kure Station. And, the
second one is "Youme Town", the only shopping mall in Kure,
which is behind the station.
And, the lastly but not least is: "Nakadori" shopping
street. "Nakadori" (or
"Central Street" in a literal translation) is conveniently
located by 2 minute walk from our hotel. You should
be able to buy most of what you need, if not all. We
have many different stores from pharmacy to restaurant,
karaoke shop to internet cafe. The entire street is
roofed so that you will enjoy shopping
regardless of weather condition. It is just like a big
mall, except it is a street wide and long.
This is very convenient and very fun
to explore the street. Dig around and look around!!!
There are many stores; some of them may be pretty
interesting to see. Since the hotel is in a walking
distance, you do not have to worry about getting a cab
and/or explaining a Japanese cab driver where to go in English when
you enjoy your night at Nakadori!! ; )
We have creating "Kure Google Map"
to assist you to find the right place to shop and eat. Please
bookmark the below page and come back once in a while for
more updates.

On the top right corner of "Nakadori
Map - North Section", you can see the location of "Weekly
Senba". Then, if you follow the blue dot line, you will
come across to the north end of Nakadori.
The red line indicates "Nakadori"
Street. "North" side and "South" side of Nakadori is
divided by another street. At the intersection
(at the red cross), there are cab stops, in case you
need to take it. |
